PARENT - TEACHER CONFERENCE

Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled in the spring while the children are in school. Written evaluations completed for each child attending the Preschool will evaluate academic skills, social/emotional skills, large and small motor skills, and speaking and listening skills.

Teachers are always available by phone or in person at any time during the year to discuss any parental concerns regarding the child's participation in the program.

If a scheduled conference is not an option, the parent can choose a phone conference.

CLOTHING

Your child will feel more comfortable in moving around the classroom if he/she wears ordinary play clothes. It helps to have your child's' name in sweaters, hats, coats, boots and mittens. Cowboy boots, and patent leather shoes are contributors to accidents on muscle room equipment and are not advisable.

SNACKS

Included in your monthly fees is the cost of a snack of juice and graham crackers each day. If you wish to send cookies for the class, to celebrate your child's birthday or a special holiday, you may sign up on the volunteer snack list posted outside the classroom door. Snacks may consist of cookies, pretzels, popcorn, chips, cheese, raw fruit, vegetables, or pudding. We ask that cake and cupcakes not be provided due to problems with clean-up and removal of stains from the carpeting.

VISITING

Parents are always welcome to visit their child's classroom. However, we suggest that you give your child an opportunity to adjust to the first few weeks of school before coming for a prolonged visit. This will provide all children an opportunity to adjust to their new environment and form a relationship with their teachers. If you are coming to visit and observe we ask that you do not bring other children into the classroom.

PARENT GROUP

There is a Parent Club which meets monthly to plan parties for their children's classroom as well as other special activities. We also need parents, and grandparents to help out on walking field trips and to assist at times in the classrooms.
